TalentMatch now includes a built-in messaging system, making it easier than ever to connect with candidates directly inside the platform.
Instead of sending emails back and forth, you can now chat with students in real time, from within the candidate profile. This replaces the previous email-based communication flow.
Why this matters
Previously, recruiters sent messages through TalentMatch, and students had to check their inbox to reply. In practice, many students missed those emails, leading to low response rates and missed opportunities.
With the new messaging system:
- Students are more likely to see and respond, since messages are accessible directly from JobTeaser, the platform they already use.
- Recruiters have a clearer, more organized view of all their conversations, centralised in one place inside TalentMatch.
- Exchanges are faster and more natural, with a real-time back-and-forth experience.
How it works for recruiters
The messaging panel is now embedded directly inside the candidate profile. You no longer need to leave the page to start or continue a conversation.
From the panel, you can:
- View the full conversation history with a candidate at any time
- Send attachments (please ensure each file is under 1 MB)
- See a typing indicator when the student is composing a reply
- Check read receipts to confirm your message has been seen
- Reply to specific messages (threaded replies)
- React to messages
- Edit or delete messages you have sent
- Receive an email reminder if your message goes unanswered after 15 minutes, with the option to reply directly from that email
You will also receive in-product tips on how to write better, more personalised messages to increase student response rates. When composing your message, you can include a link to the relevant job ad and add emojis to make your outreach more engaging.
💡 Good to know: The "In discussion" status label has been replaced by "Contacted", which now also shows a count of unread messages for easier tracking.
How it works for students
Students now have a dedicated Messages section on JobTeaser, where all their conversations with recruiters are gathered in one place. They can:
- Search through conversations
- See typing indicators and read receipts
- Receive a notification badge in the navigation bar so they never miss a message
Transition and history
No messages will be lost. Conversations that were started before this change will continue to work normally. Once switched to the new system, all future messages will go through the built-in messaging experience on JobTeaser.
